McCain and Obama on the Economy

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
The economy in the U.S. is in recession right now. We are in the largest budget deficit in the United States's History. People are losing their jobs and homes and everything that they had before. People are also coming up short on money in the way of huuuuuge debts.

SENATOR McCAIN WILL:
McCain says that people's jobs are the most important part of our economy. Jobs are what keeps the economy running. He believes that cutting the taxes on small businesses and corporations will allow them to keep working and running. This, McCain says is just as important as cutting the taxes on your average American citizen. McCain wants to make the two tax cut that Bush made permanent cuts for the U.S. people. He also plans to cut down on all the money that the government is spending because he thinks that they often waste the money.

SENATOR OBAMA WILL:
Senator Obama wants to roll back the tax cuts on the wealthiest Americans in the country. He will , depending on the state of the economy, raising the taxes on those people and also on large corporations. Of of this tax raise he will make more than $250,000. Most of the other people in the U.S. will have less taxes to pay. Obama plans to create more jobs for the people that need them. He will be adding more jobs for people that can help to build new highways and work in the school transportation, as well as public transportation.
